Lung diseases
IPF:
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis is a chronic degenerative diseases of unknown etiology (Raghu, et al. 2011) ,
derived from lung parenchyma changes caused by epithelial activation of fibroblast migration,
proliferation and differentiation into active myofibroblasts that secrete large amount
of extracellular matrix components (Martinez, Fernando J., et al. 2017).
Here, you can see some genes that have been reported in the literature to be relevant for IPF. We used the following datasets:
GSE32537
GSE21369
GSE24206
GSE94060
GSE72073
GSE35145
GSE31934.

COPD:
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases is a progressive, irreversible and debilitating disease
with a heterogeneous phenotype and multi factorial causes in which tabacco smoke is consider
the main one. COPD patients have respiratory insufficiency and identification of chronic
bronchitis and emphysema (Rennard, Stephen I., et al. 2015).
